Hey there!
Welcome to our FAQ page.
Whether you're a seasoned bulk bin pro or just dipping your toes into the world of refill shopping, we've got you covered. Wondering how to use your own containers? Curious about our rewards program? Or maybe you're just trying to figure out when we're open?
Don't worry, we've rounded up the most common questions below to make it quick & easy for you.
303 North Main Street, Suite 100, Dickson, TN, 37055
Monday through Saturday, 10am - 6pm
Sunday 11a - 4p
All you have to do is bring your own clean container and do the following:
Once you come into the store, walk over to our 'Tare station'. There you will weigh your empty container on our scale, then write down the tare weight either directly on the jar or on a piece of tape that we provide.
Now the fun begins and you can go fill it up with whatever you want in the store! Once you're ready to checkout, place your goodies up on the checkout counter and we will weigh them again. We will deduct the tare weight of the container so that you're not paying food prices for your jar!
Instead, you'll just be paying for the weight of the food/liquid/etc.
And that's it. It's really that simple.
Containers can be a jar, a bag, or any other food storage container or shampoo bottle type thing for those cleaning products. (That's the beauty of all this)
Oh yeah, of course!
We always have free paper bags you can use as well as jars for purchase.
We also have a Bring Your Own Container (BYOC) discount where you'll get 5% off for each product you buy using a container you brought with you to the store.
So, even if you need to buy a jar, the next time you bring it back, you'll save!
The beauty of our store is that you can buy as little or as much as you want.
You can get just enough for that new recipe you're trying or a whole month's worth. Up to you.
Of course, there is technically a possibility that you could get such a small amount that the scale won't be able to detect it, but this is very unlikely. (Hasn't happened yet at least!)
Same goes for 'too much'. Our scales go up to 30lbs, but again, we haven't run into an issue of someone buying that much at once either.
We're always on the lookout for new products. If you think yours would be a good fit for our shelves, here's the easiest way to reach us.

One quick heads up: we get a lot of submissions, so we can't always reply to every one. If you don't hear back, please don't take it personally. We're happy you thought of us.
We aren't hiring at this time, but you are welcome to send over your cover letter and resume to scoop@tarebulkfoods.com
It's always nice to have these on hand for when we do go to hire.
Essentially everything except crypto, checks, and barters!
We accept all the normal debit and credit cards, mobile wallet payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay), and even Cash App.
Cash too, of course!
Nope!
We believe your experience at Tare should be smooth and frictionless. So it would be counterproductive for us to toss an extra charge your way right at the end of your time in our store.
We take the hit on this one.
Due to the nature of our business, all food sales are final. However, we aren't crazy and understand that there are exceptions to every rule. So, if you feel like the food was rotten or spoiled, we will refund you the full amount.
It's a point for every dollar.
50 points = 5% Off, 100 points = 10% Off, 150 points = 15% Off, 200 points = 20% Off.
To sign up, all you have to do is type in your phone number at checkout.
You can browse everything we carry on our products page.
We don't take pre-orders or sell online though. We're built around the in-store experience, so the products page is there to show you what's on our shelves, not to check out from.
No, we don't.
We're 100% focused on the in-store experience. The world needs more physical, meaningful, in-person moments, not fewer. That focus is a big part of what makes Tare, Tare. So we've chosen not to do e-commerce.
No.
We hold ourselves to extremely high standards and we plan to do this until we die. This is our life's work.
We're a young, growing business with three kids and a full plate, so we're honestly not in teacher mode right now. We just don't have the bandwidth for it at this stage.
Here's a genuinely good place to start instead: How to Start a Refill Store. Give it a real afternoon, or a few afternoons and weekends, and you can learn a lot on your own.
And if you do reach out, please don't be offended if we can't get back to you. We're glad you thought of us.
99%+ of everything we carry is organic and/or non-gmo.
Tons of gluten free products. Many items are also vegan.
