Chai Streusel Granola
Chai spices baked into granola with ghee and honey: warm, a little cardamom-forward, and good enough to eat straight from the bowl.
What It Is
This granola is built around upcycled chai, a blend of cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger that would otherwise go to waste after brewing. Ghee, which is clarified butter with the milk solids removed, gives the clusters a deeper, nuttier richness than regular butter would. Honey and brown sugar add sweetness without tipping it into candy territory.
Sliced almonds, coconut chips, and pumpkin seeds give it real crunch and enough substance to carry you through a busy morning. It is gluten-free and made with non-GMO ingredients.
What To Do
Eat it with milk of choice and fresh fruit, or layer it over yogurt with a spoonful of jam. It also works well scattered over a baked sweet potato or a bowl of oatmeal when you want something with a little texture and spice. The chai flavor makes it a natural with anything apple or pear.
Store it in an airtight container at room temperature and it will stay crisp for two to three weeks. If you want to warm it up, spread it on a baking sheet at 300 degrees for five minutes and let it cool before eating.
