Golden Hour Tonic Tea

Golden Hour Tonic Tea

Eleven ingredients, no caffeine, and a color in the cup that looks like late afternoon light. This is a local blend built around ginger, turmeric, and citrus, warm without being spicy, bright without being sharp.

What It Is

Golden Hour Tonic is a caffeine-free herbal blend made right here in Middle Tennessee. Ginger and turmeric give it a gentle warmth, hibiscus and rosehips pull in a tart, berry-like depth, and pineapple, papaya, and apple round the whole thing out so it never tastes medicinal. The citrus rinds and grapefruit oil keep it lively.

Spearmint is the quiet thread that ties it together, cooling just enough to balance all that warmth. The result is a tea that drinks well at any hour, not just golden ones, and tastes like someone put real thought into each part.

What To Do

Steep one heaping teaspoon per cup in water just off the boil, about 200 to 205 degrees, for five to seven minutes. Longer steeping deepens the ginger and hibiscus; shorter keeps it lighter and more citrusy. Strain and drink as is, or stir in a little honey if you want it sweeter.

It is good hot on a cold morning and just as good poured over ice in summer. Try it with milk of choice and honey for something closer to a golden milk situation. Store in an airtight container away from light, and it will stay fragrant for months.
