Green Tea Vanilla Chai Almonds
A dry roasted almond wrapped in a chai-spiced yogurt coating with green tea and vanilla. Snackable, a little exotic, and nothing like a plain chocolate nut.
What It Is
The coating here does the heavy lifting. Spiced with chai seasoning and brightened with green tea and vanilla, it sets up around a dry roasted almond in a pale, matte shell that looks almost powdery. The yogurt base keeps it from being as sweet as a straight sugar coating.
The flavor lands somewhere between a spiced latte and a good snack mix. The almond underneath stays crunchy, the coating is fragrant, and the whole thing is a little more interesting than it looks.
What To Do
Eat them out of hand. They are good on a cheese board alongside dried fruit, or scattered over a simple green salad dressed with something citrusy. They also hold up in a trail mix where you want something other than chocolate.
Store them somewhere cool and dry, away from heat, which can turn the coating soft or greasy. A sealed container at room temperature keeps them in good shape for several weeks.
