Mama's Milk Lactation Blend

Mama's Milk Lactation Blend

A blend of seven organic herbs that nursing mothers have turned to for generations, all in one tea you can steep at home in minutes.

What It Is

Mama's Milk is a traditional lactation support blend drawing on herbs long used by nursing mothers across many cultures. Nettle and alfalfa bring a grassy, nourishing base. Oat straw adds a mild, slightly sweet note. Red raspberry leaf has been a fixture of women's folk herbalism for centuries. Fenugreek and fennel, both with a gentle anise warmth, are the herbs most traditionally associated with lactation support. Anise seed rounds the flavor out, making this taste more like a pleasant licorice-tinged tea than something medicinal.

This is a blend with real roots in tradition, not a novelty tea. It is organic throughout, and the flavor is mild enough to drink daily.

What To Do

Steep one heaping tablespoon in eight ounces of hot water, about 200 degrees, for ten to fifteen minutes. Cover the cup while it steeps to keep the volatile oils from escaping with the steam. Strain and drink as is, or add honey if you want a little sweetness. Most people drink one to three cups a day.

Store in a sealed container away from light and heat, and it will keep well for up to a year. It also works cold: brew a strong batch, let it cool, and pour it over ice.
