Strawberry Shindig Tea
A fruit-forward, caffeine-free tea blended locally in Tennessee, built around strawberry and hibiscus with a bright, tart finish that needs no sweetener to taste like summer.
What It Is
Strawberry Shindig is a cold-weather-friendly, caffeine-free blend made close to home. Hibiscus gives it that deep ruby color and a cranberry-like tartness. Rosehips add a subtle fruitiness, lemongrass keeps it bright, and spearmint rounds the whole thing out without taking over.
Because there's no tea leaf in the mix, there's no bitterness and no caffeine, which makes it as easy to drink at 9 p.m. as at 9 a.m. It's the kind of thing kids and adults reach for equally, hot or cold.
What To Do
Steep one heaping teaspoon per cup in water just off the boil for five to seven minutes. Longer steeping deepens the color and tartness. It's naturally sweet enough to drink plain, but a little honey plays nicely with the hibiscus.
For a summer pitcher, steep a few tablespoons in two cups of hot water, then pour over a full pitcher of ice and cold water. It holds up well in the fridge for a couple of days. Store loose tea in a cool, dry spot away from light.
