What It Is
Sunny Worms are a pectin-based gummy candy colored with concentrated apple, carrot, pumpkin, and black currant. No artificial dyes, no artificial flavors. Pectin, which comes from fruit, gives them a slightly softer, less rubbery chew than gelatin-based gummies, and keeps them vegan.
The colors are muted compared to neon candy-aisle worms, which is exactly what you would expect when the orange comes from carrot and the purple comes from black currant. They taste like candy, not like fruit. That is fine. That is the point.
What To Do
Eat them out of hand. Bring them to a movie, pack them in a lunchbox, set them out at a party. They do not need a purpose beyond being a good gummy worm.
Store in a cool, dry spot and they will keep for months. Heat makes them stick together, so skip the car cupholder in July. Because they contain wheat starch, they are not gluten-free despite the otherwise simple ingredient list.
