Yogurt Pretzels
Crunchy pretzel, tangy yogurt coating, just enough salt to make it interesting. The snack bowl that disappears faster than you planned.
What It Is
Yogurt pretzels are twist pretzels tumbled in a coating made from real yogurt powder, cocoa butter, and vanilla. The coating is not chocolate, and it is not icing. It is something in between: creamy and a little tart, with a mellow sweetness that does not overpower the salt underneath.
These are certified organic, which means the wheat, the oil, the sugar, and the dairy in the coating all meet organic standards. The soy or sunflower lecithin holds the coating smooth and even. The lactic acid is what gives that faint yogurt tang its backbone.
What To Do
Eat them out of hand. That is the honest answer. They are also good crushed over vanilla ice cream, scattered on a snack board next to fruit and nuts, or packed into a lunchbox where they hold up better than most coated candies.
Store them somewhere cool and dry. Heat will soften the coating and they will clump. A sealed container on the counter is fine in cooler months. In summer, the refrigerator works, though a few minutes at room temperature brings the texture back before you eat them.
